While in Szczawnica, it's worth taking a hike to one of the area's most recognizable peaks. Three Crowns (Trzy Korony) can be reached from various directions, and there are many interesting trails leading up to the mountain. Regardless of which one you choose, you'll be able to admire a wealth of unique vegetation and rare animal species, as well as incredible views.
The trail to the Three Crowns: which one to choose?
The five-peaked Trzy Korony peak can be reached by a trail from Szczawnica or Krościenko nad Dunajcem. Many people also begin their hike in Sromowce Niżne, where the beauty of this mountain is best seen. Trails from Czorsztyn and Sromowce Wyżne, from the raftsmen's harbor, also lead to this attraction. Therefore, combining several attractions is a good idea, provided tourists are properly prepared and have enough energy for such a hike. For example, from Sromowice Niżne, the ascent to Trzy Korony peak takes about three and a half hours in good weather, and the route is over seven kilometers long.

It's worth remembering that the choice of trail to Mount Trzy Korony should depend on the group's abilities. Depending on the color-coded route, you can determine which one is the easiest. The red hiking trail is the main route leading to the summit. Blue trails, on the other hand, mark longer routes, but are therefore more gentle than the black trails, which are shorter and usually more demanding. The blue trail to Mount Trzy Korony leads from Szczawnica through Sokolica, Sokola Perć, and Zamkowa Góra, or from Czorsztyn, including through the Osice Pass and Trzy Kopce. If hikers want to enjoy the mountain experience but aren't experienced hikers, these trails are a good choice. However, it's also worth exploring other trails, as each has its own unique charm and isn't as demanding.
Trzy Korony – an attraction not only for summer
It's worth considering climbing Trzy Korony during the off-season, as the queues for the Okrąglica ridge, the viewpoint, are shorter. This attraction can be a great destination any time of year, but you should always consider the participants' physical abilities. If you plan to climb the mountain in unfavorable weather, we recommend wearing good footwear to avoid slipping on the marshy terrain.
